Artificial intelligence (AI) is a new form of technology that helps machines solve problems like humans. As a human, you may be curious to know the differences between you and AI, especially now that AI is replacing human jobs.
Differences between AI and Humans
1. Learning ability
AI and humans don’t learn the same way. Humans can learn via a trial and error approach but AI can’t learn that way. Humans can learn via the thinking process but AI can’t even think for themselves. Rather, AI learns only from acquired data and continuous training.
2. Accuracy
The results AI produce are more accurate than that human produce. AI is very unlike to make mistakes like humans while processing information since it relies strictly on some set of programmed rules.
3. Decision making
AI makes objective decisions based entirely on gathered data. In contrast, human decisions are not based entirely on gathered data. Human thoughts and emotions usually influence their decisions.
4. Speed
AI can process information faster than humans. AI can solve hundreds of problems within a minute. Humans on the other hand will only manage to solve just a few problems within a minute.
5. Ability to adapt
Unlike humans, AI can’t easily adapt to changes. For instance, if AI is introduced into a new environment, it will have to take in a new set of data to operate in the new environment. In contrast, humans will easily adapt to a new environment by merely studying the environment.
6. Self-awareness
AI isn’t aware of itself as it lacks consciousness. AI can’t perceive its own emotions, behaviors, or other information about itself. Rather, it relies on data obtained from external sources to learn a few things about itself.
7. Creativity
The lack of thinking ability hinders AI from generating innovative ideas like humans. AI can’t imagine things or invent anything presently, though it might eventually be possible in the future. In contrast, humans can imagine new things and invent them.
